What exactly do I download? ▾

You receive a single .html file. Double-click it and it opens in Chrome — a fully-featured app with no installation required. Think of it like a local web app that runs entirely on your computer.

Where is my data stored? ▾

Everything is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own computer. Nothing is sent to any server. Your firearms data stays completely private and offline. Use the built-in Backup feature to save a portable copy of your data as a JSON file.

Do I need an internet connection? ▾

No. The app works 100% offline after download. The only features that require internet are the barcode scanner lookup (to look up product names from a UPC) and the PDF library (loaded once from a CDN). Everything else works with no connection.

Which browser should I use? ▾

Google Chrome is recommended for the best experience, including barcode scanning. The app also works in Microsoft Edge and Brave. Safari has limited support for some features.

Can I use it on my phone or tablet? ▾

Yes. Open the file in Chrome on your desktop, then use the barcode scanner feature which works via your phone's camera when accessed on the local network. The app is also mobile-responsive and works in a phone browser.

Is this legal to use for tracking NFA items? ▾

Yes. This is a personal inventory and documentation tool, similar to keeping a paper logbook. It helps you stay organized and document your legally-owned NFA items. Always consult with a licensed attorney for specific legal questions regarding NFA compliance.

What happens if I get a new computer? ▾

Use the Backup feature (Reports → Backup Data) to download your data as a JSON file. Copy the HTML file and the JSON backup to your new computer. Open the app and use Restore from Backup to reload all your data.
